The founder-member of Fossils, Rupam was born into a musical family and his first stage performance was at age 4. He formed Fossils after his first solo album was released on from HMV. A popular author, Rupam has three best-selling books to his credit and regularly contributes columns to a range of magazines. He is one of the busiest playback singers in the Bengali film industry, with more than 70 songs to his credit. He made a foray into Bollywood, with the hit song Jannat off the 2008 movie of the same name, directed by Kunal Deshmukh.
